I’m looking forward to going to TheServerSide Java Symposium in Vegas this week. One of our leading architects, Shay Banon, is going to demonstrate how you can use GigaSpaces and Spring to build a transactional application that can scale dynamically over a pool of machines with a few simple steps. Shay’s presentation will cover the development, testing and deployment phases, and will demonstrate how such a system handles fail-over and scaling scenarios of their entire application using a simple Spring-based configuration. What’s also interesting news is that all of this is provided as an open source initiative named OpenSpaces. So far the feedback we’ve been getting has been great. I would love to use this opportunity to ask for some initial feedback from GigaSpaces users, those that are familiar with Spring, and those that are just looking for a simple way to scale their applications.
On Friday, I will be giving a presentation, From Tiers to Services Without Web Services , that will cover some aspects of the OpenSpaces project, mostly related to SOA, and on Thursday I will be part of the High-Performance Architecture Industry Leaders Panel with Bob Lozano from Appistry , Gil Tene from Azul and moderated by John Davies – now from IONA (congrats, John!).
See you in Vegas!
