Overview

GigaSpaces CCF4XAP using Amazon DevPay for its automated billing process. The pricing policy is pay-per-use, similar to Amazon. There is no minimum fee.

What is Amazon DevPay?

Amazon DevPay is a billing and account management service that enables Companies to get paid for products they build on either Amazon EC2 or Amazon Simple Storage Service. Amazon DevPay creates and manages the order pipeline and billing system.
Customer sign up for product using Amazon EC2 or Amazon Simple Storage, and the system automatically meter their usage of the underlying AWS service, bill them based on the pricing set, and collect their payments.

The Billing Process

The Billing Process is described below:

1. You use your Amazon.com account to sign up and pay for the usage of GigaSpaces XAP on the cloud. The sign-up page indicates that GigaSpaces have teamed up with Amazon Payments to make billing easy and secure.
2. You pay the price defined for the GigaSpaces XAP when running on the cloud (pay-per-use pricing model).
3. DevPay subtracts a fixed transaction fee and pays the difference to GigaSpaces.
4. GigaSpaces pay the costs of the AWS services GigaSpaces XAP consumes when you run your application on the cloud, and a percentage-based DevPay fee.

How do you sign up to GigaSpaces Amazon DevPay System?

As part of the registration to GigaSpaces Cloud program you will be requested to register also to the Amazon DevPay system and approve Amazon DevPay to charge your Amazon account when consuming GigaSpaces AMIs by transferring money from your account to GigaSpaces Amazon account.

You should access GigaSpaces Dev Pay registration page and follow the following process:

1. Access http://www.gigaspaces.com/mycloud and click the "Sign up" link. See the [New Paying User Login] for details.
2. Fill in the registration form at the GigaSpaces Cloud Program Sign up Page
   Read and agree to the terms and conditions and Click the Next button. You will move to the Subscribe Step.
3. A sucess message will be displayed. Click Next to Login to your Amazon Account.

   Login using your existing AWS account user and password or create a new AWS account.

4. Review the pricing and Click the button.

5. You will receive a confirmation email from Amazon.

6. A page will be displayed. The upper part will include "Thank you for signing up for GigaSpaces XAP" message and the lower part will display confirm you passed the third Step of the Sign up process.
7. Click the Start Now button to access the GigaSpaces Cloud Console Login page.
8. You will receive an email from GigaSpaces with your GigaSpaces Cloud License. You will have a license for XAP 6.6 and another one for 7.0 XAP as part of the email sent.

9. Get your Amazon AWS Keys

10. Place your GigaSpaces Cloud license and Amazon AWS keys and click the Login button.

    Privacy Policy Amazon keys used to login are secured via SSL and are not stored within the GigaSpaces system anywhere.

The Cloud Web Console will be opened allowing you to deploy your application on the cloud.

Canceling the GigaSpaces XAP Devpay registration

You may cancel the registration to the GigaSpaces XAP Devpay product anytime.

1. Access your Amazon account, Select Account Activity and click the View Paid AMI Activity

3. Click the Cancel this Application Button

4. A sucess message will be displayed

How do you Access the Billing Report?

You can access billing report via your Amazon Account Activity section.

1. Access your Amazon account, Select Account Activity and click the View Paid AMI Activity
   Click the View Paid AMI Activity

   

2. This will show you the Billing Statement for GigaSpaces XAP.

Email Notifications

The system will notify you via email in the following cases:

E-mails Related to Sign-Up or Cancellation

• When the Customer Signs Up to Use Your Product
• If the Validation of the Customer's Credit Card Fails
• If the Customer Cancels Use of Your Product

E-mails Related to Billing

• When the Customer Is Billed Each Month
• If the Customer's Credit Card Charge Fails During Billing
• When the Customer Changes the Payment Method
• When a Retry Attempt Succeeds
• When the First or Second Retry Attempt Fails
• When the Final Retry Attempt Fails

E-mails Related to Price Changes

• When You Schedule a Price Change with Passive Authorization (for information about passive price changes, see Passive vs. Active Authorization)
• When You Schedule a Price Change with Active Authorization (for information about active price changes, see Passive vs. Active Authorization)
• When You Cancel an Upcoming Price Change
• When a New Price for Your Product Goes Into Effect
• If the Customer Doesn't Accept the Price Change by the Deadline, Causing Cancellation

How do I use my AMI based on GigaSpaces XAP AMI with Amazon DevPay?

Users have the option to build their own AMI based on GigaSpaces AMIs.

How do I use GigaSpaces XAP on the cloud without using Amazon DevPay?

Please contact cloud@gigaspaces.com to provide you alternative pricing model that is not based on the GigaSpaces Amazon DevPay product.
