Using GigaSpaces, TAC - A Leading Virginia-Based IT Firm Specializing in Counterterrorism Solutions Nears Completion of Breakthrough Identity Search Application

Washington DC - January 9, 2007 - GigaSpaces, the enterprise infrastructure software company that is revolutionizing the architecture of distributed, data-intensive applications, announced today that its technology has been successfully deployed by The Analysis Corporation (TAC) in the development of an advanced identity search application for a Federal agency. The scalable, real-time, grid-based, compute-intensive solution currently features a capacity of 50,000 requests per day - an industry-first for an application of this type - and is expected within a year to manage up to 50 million requests per day. TAC is a foremost software and systems design and development company serving U.S. Government agencies seeking advanced solutions for assembling and analyzing critical information on national security issues. The firm, based in McLean, Virginia, built the solution for a Federal agency focused on intelligence gathering, law enforcement, and counterterrorism. Following a mid-2005 technology research phase and a thorough competitive review of off-the-shelf and custom software development alternatives, TAC Project Manager Jason A. Weisbaum, a 10-year IT manager with experience at the Federal level in services, consulting, and support, said, "GigaSpaces was selected because it was the most mature, scalable, and sensible solution. We are doing things in this development effort no one has ever done. GigaSpaces proved to be the most adaptable choice. It can be used with products written in any language, with any operating system, and has allowed us to plug anything into the grid with confidence it will work. In future deployments using the GigaSpaces architecture, our pace will be way ahead of anything typically experienced by teams using conventional development methods." "This advanced search application demonstrates the capabilities GigaSpaces brings to government customers with demanding, high-performance applications," said Douglas Rich, GigaSpaces EVP of Sales, the Americas. "We look forward to continuing our fruitful relationship with TAC and improving the speed and capability of high-end government applications across the board." The Chief Architect, Joseph Krozak, an IT expert with 20 years experience building advanced software solutions, and a published author on topics such as J2EE and ERP integration, described the finished application, expected this month, as a system that distributes the work of extremely computational search processes as well as the memory by which the processes are performed. "GigaSpaces helped us meet the primary objectives for this application that it be a very fast real-time solution easily scalable to accommodate demands we see increasing by an order of magnitude within the coming year. We could have attempted this with custom or open source alternatives but the effort would have been huge."
