In this event, Nati Shalom will present "Getting Ready for the Cloud" which describes the latest developments in the industry on cloud computing, and where he feels this will be going. He will also share his experience on how to design and deploy enterprise applications in a cloud/grid computing platform, what to take into account while developing or deploying applications on the cloud, and demonstrate how to transition applications to run on the Cloud without needing to completely re-architect or re-write them. We will also unveil some the work that GigaSpaces is doing with Sun on the Glassfish/MySQL/JavaRT and GridEngine to reduce potential lockin through standards and opensource. In this session we will cover the best practices on how application/middleware virtualization helps to save costs and how the combination of GigaSpaces and stack can provide a cost effective alternative stack that can meet the most demanding financial applications.
